With spring comes the inevitable invasion of spiders and wasps. Spiders are not much of a problem during the colder months, but during spring re-emergence, they build their webs in the usual places – in eves and around light fixtures. The spiders also attract wasps, especially those that prey on live insects. Umbrella wasps, paper wasps and mud daubers prey on spiders and use them to feed the eggs laid in the cells of their nests.
Now is the time of year to take steps to prevent the establishment of these spider & wasp nests around your home. The treatment procedure involves brooming down webs and egg cases at your eves, around trim, and night light fixtures. This is followed by treating those areas with a repellant residual spray that has a life of 90 days. All of this can be done with care while observing social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
